Think back to your childhood—those unforgettable moments from trips and adventures have a lasting impact. At Team Fostering, we organise a variety of foster care activities to ensure children and young people experience the same joy and excitement.

What sort of activities do we offer?

Over the years we have organised a whole host of different activities.  Some recent examples include:

Aqua park assault course

Rock climbing and other outdoor pursuits

Theme parks

Trips to the zoo, farm parks and local castles

Horse riding

Theatre trips

Stand up paddle boarding

A day out at the seaside

Arts and crafts activities

Bowling

Laser tag

We also host annual events like our Celebration of Achievements, Halloween and Christmas parties, and our cherished caravan holiday, where carers and children bond and create new friendships.

A real jewel in our crown is our annual caravan holiday, which brings all children and foster carers together for a highly enjoyable week. The holiday is a great opportunity for carers to get to know other carers, and for children and young people to make new friends and socialise. We work hard to ensure that there are lots of things to do, and to offer the opportunity for children and young people to try out new things.

Why Are Foster Care Activities So Important?

These activities offer more than just fun. They enhance social and emotional well-being, foster connections, and help young people make new friends, contributing to their overall development.

Cost of Participating in Activities

Our activity programme is open to everyone in the fostering household, and most activities are completely free. For high-cost events, we may ask for a small contribution, but we ensure foster carers and children can access these enriching experiences without financial burden. In fact, our summer programme provides activities worth over £450 for free.

Team Fostering subsidise most activities for fostering families during the summer break, meaning that a jam-packed programme of days-out that would normally cost a family of 4 over £450 is available to our foster carers and children completely FREE. All you need to do is make your way there and we’ll organise the rest.

In addition, if your looked after child would like to bring a friend, or if you would like to bring close family, where possible we are happy to provide additional tickets at the price it costs us. There is also no limit to the number of activities that you can attend.
